Who are you?:
I am a person who has a lot of dreams and ambitions. I am multiskilled– a linguist, a writer, and a person who gets inspiration from my music, my emotions and the situation around me. I dream about creating change in the world and leaving a positive mark so that it is something that people can remember about me.
What have you been doing at IMAGI-NATION {UNIVERSITY}?:
I have been writing this novel called ‘While We Cry’ which is a story in line with a campaign against domestic violence, child abuse and stigma.
How have you been doing it?:
I have been writing and editing a novel, with help from tutors in the Writers Rooms.
Why are you doing it?:
I am doing this to put across a message about domestic violence, child abuse and stigma. I am trying to show the ways that this can not only ruin a person, but can ruin families and whole communities.
Which Professor teaches your favourite IMAGI-NATION {UNIVERSITY} lesson and why?:
Professor Lionel Corn, the teacher of organising change. I like the way he speaks in metaphors, cleverly speaking about the problems we face now. I like the way he talked about how we all already have the power to organise mobility for change in the world, using the same stars but with different patterns.
What lessons in organising change would you pass on to other students in your course?:
We are living in a world where there is lots of misinformation, but we are the authors of our own future so destiny can only take it’s course if we let it.
